Random update

Greetings loyal readers. I trust that you all had a pleasant Christmas break and are now once more toiling at the mill. My Christmas was okay, made much better by our third trip of the year to see Morrissey live on Christmas Eve-Eve. This time at the (soon to be renamed) G-Mex in Manc. Excellent - best show of the year. Went on to the Brickhouse afterwards - good work to Mward for getting us tickets to avoid the large queue. A spiffing night. The picture above gives you the "I could be there" feeling. Let the wrist-slashing commence...

I felt quite sorry for poor Gartside, given how much he'd been looking forward to attending the cricket test match on Boxing Day at the MCG. First it was delayed due to rain on what looked like a miserable day, then England got utterly thrashed by the Aussies. I told you it was shite...

Only 2 weeks until our next skiing trip in Val Thorens! Disturbingly, there has been very little snow on the Alps as yet. I will be most disgruntled if that remains the case, having forked out on new gear. Here is the latest Val Thorens forecast:

I got to Melbourne on Boxing Day (day 1), but only went to the cricket on days 3 and 4. Except it was all over by the end of day 3.

Tossers.

Poor OG. At least you saw a load of wickets I suppose, even though they were for the wrong team. There have been so many days in December when I have woken up, hopefully checked up on the score and had my hopes dashed. And merry xmas and all the rest of it to you my man.

Mike - I obviously hope there's snow but it won't be a total disaster if not. I'll just dust off all my best anecdotes and draw them out a bit. The gang will be entertained for however long is required (hours/days/a week as necessary).

Skitime!

Hugely looking forward to it - you'll all no doubt already know it's chucked buckets of white gold (or diamonds, depending on your viewpoint) today, and is set to do so for a goodly few days to come.

And only a few poxy days at poxy work before party-time once more.

Ah, it's so much better on holiday - which is why, in fact, I only work when I need the money (doob doobie doo).

Pete, you are the bringer of glad tidings! Anything to spare us from Lunt's "anecdotes", which usually begin with "does anyone want to see my c..."

Ace news about the snow - just checked Ski Club of GB site (worth registering for free) and indeed, there has been a load of fresh snow. Get in!! Just hope it lasts til we get there.

Come on then Mike - another post a mere 5 months after your last isn't going to kill you...
