New York City Cops

As you may know, the boy Millhouse and I spent a few days chillin' in New York last week. A great time was had eating 3 massive meals a day, drinking every night and generally lazing about. Saw all the sights. Didn't manage to get a photo of the (seemingly normal) woman we saw in Central Park walking a cat on a lead!

We went to a couple of club nights (though the Morrissey night in Manhattan wasn't up to the Star & Garter's standards, despite a much classier venue). Watched Man Utd's 4-0 win at Bolton (incl Rooney's hat-trick) live at 10am NY time, in a bar with a wall of giant TV screens - marvellous. Last time I was in NYC, Newcastle beat United 5-0 at St James' - how times have changed.

Below are a few snaps. For the others in my new online photo album (which may look uncannily similar to Millward's), click here. (The 'slideshow' feature is good.)

A world-famous icon (oh, and the Statue of Liberty, guffaw)

The night view from the top of the Empire State Building - this was ace.

Mark enjoys a light lunch... this was in the famous Carnegie Deli, where all the portions are gigantic. In his defence, MM saved half of this massive sarnie for later - doggie bags are the norm. I piggily stuffed an enormous cheeseburger down my gullet.

An interestingly named Chinese restaurant... for some reason we didn't try to get in here. Posted by Picasa

NY delis certainly know how to make a proper sandwich. One that lasts you the whole holiday.

Unless you're an American - then it just about lasts you till the hotdog stand up the road.
