Time for heroes...

As you will already know from reading Millward's blog, a few of us recently went to see two performers that I regard as musical heroes having followed them since the mid 80s, namely Morrissey and Billy Bragg. Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but I enjoyed them.

Mozza is promoting his belting new album, that you already have if you like him and have no intention of getting if you don't. This show was at the Lowry, which wasn't the best venue as it was all seated. Must have played to the demographics of the average Moz fan - men in their late 30s with dodgy knees.

Billy was touring under the banner of 'Hope Not Hate' - an anti-racism message. With the BNP fielding candidates across the country in the local elections, it was a timely reminder that we should never be complacent. He played a good number of old classics, including my favourite 'Greetings to the New Brunette'. An absolute legend. Posted by Picasa
